Upcoming: Unified Inbox - Stage 1
Our team are busy working on introducing a unified inbox into Elina. The planning for this started back in 2024. Currently, we have built the front end to be an experience like WhatsApp and are now connecting it to Online Travel Agents, like Booking.com, AirBnB, Expedia and other channels that support guest messaging. We have coded the flow of receiving communications from online travel agents, that support this in their APIs, which, includes: Booking.com, AirBnB and Expedia.
This will be a significant improvement to Elina Communications.
What will be included in stage 1 of the Elina Unified Inbox?
- The introduction of a new user interface for receiving and replying to messages from online travel agent channels, that support messaging.
- When a guest initiates a chat, you will get a notification, and be able to view and reply to the message from the unified inbox. If the guest has a booking we will display all the reservation info in-screen to help you. If they do not have a booking, or you wish to link their message to other information, such as an invoice, room or property, package, then you can.
- We will pull in messages from Elina Online Check-in, allowing guests to used this for dialogue and get quick replies to their questions.
- You will be able to manually create and send a task to another person (ie team member), either as part of communication flow, or just as a task, an upgrade to Elina notes, with an easy-to-use interface. An example might be: to notify a team member to go and re-clean a room, or a revenue team member to check and update rates. You can track the task, as it has statuses, and complete it.
- There will be notifications in the dashboards and navigation of messages and tasks to help system users know to go and respond or action.

What will be included in stage 2 of the Elina Unified Inbox?
- We will introduce automated push messages. This will allow you to create messages that send based on trigger rules to guests.
What will be included in stage 3 of the Elina Unified Inbox?
- We will bring in other channels, including WhatsApp.
